Findex Associate Partner, qualified Chartered Accountant and TA local Tania Sanders is one of the new faces we’ve welcomed onto the Te Awamutu Chamber of Commerce board at our latest AGM in September. In this story, we give a rundown on her background and her championing of Te Awamutu businesses.
Born in Whanganui, Tania Sanders moved to Te Awamutu to start her primary schooling. Other than spending a couple of years living and working in London, she says she’s never left since.
Working with local businesses and families for over 20 years, Tania trained as an accountant at local firm Kelly & Bryant Chartered Accountants Ltd, becoming Chartered in 1997. Through her career she has progressed her way up to Partner level, working alongside husband Craig Sanders.
The firm has since become Findex Te Awamutu, part of a global network of firms, with 3000+ staff, 250,000+ clients and over $17bn funds under advice across its New Zealand and Australian arms.
Tania has a passion for helping local businesses, families and not-for-profit organisations and it shows in the way she gives her time generously to the Te Awamutu community. She sits on the boards / committees of a number of local organisations including Altrusa International of Te Awamutu, Te Awamutu Sports Netball Club, Te Awamutu Marist and Stewart Alexander Golf Club.
With many of these committee’s Tania will volunteer to take the finance role as she knows it’s not everyone’s strength and enjoys being able to offer up her expertise to these not-for-profit organisations.
For the Chamber, Tania brings valuable governance and finance expertise to the board. We are excited to have her on board and look forward to utilising her skills and experience to benefit the Te Awamutu Chamber and its members.
