Most of us would have heard the age old saying; "it's not what you know, but it's who you know." In simple terms, it can mean that someone's knowledge and skills can seem "less useful" or "less important" than one's network of personal contacts.
As a business owner or operator, it's important to remember that networking is a powerful tool that can help grow and sustain your business!
Building successful relationships with your community whether it's your customers, suppliers or other local businesses, ensures that your brand gets out into the marketplace and is represented in a positive light.
Here at the Chamber, we believe that networking is integral to business success, especially in a small town like Te Awamutu.
When we plan our events, we allow plenty of time for our members to network. It's fantastic to witness our members trading business cards with each other. It proves that you are more likely to strum up business when you are networking with someone in a casual and social situation.
